Product Reviews For the fall/winter months when my skin tends to be on the dry side, I like a rich foundation that has a creamy consistency with medium to full coverage. Dark spots from bouts of past and present acne has left its mark all over my face, so while on the hunt for the perfect combination of serums and masks to lighten the spots, foundation has to be my savior for flawless LOOKING skin (hey, we can all pretend right?) and MAC Studio Sculpt in NW43 is doing a very good job of meeting the creamy and full coverage criteria.
See how thick and rich that is? Nom Nom for the skin! I loved Make Up For Ever's super thick and full coverage HD foundation, but alas, it would break me out :( That is the pitfall with a creamy rich foundation but this one has been good to me so far and I recommend it for those who may have dry skin or bad spots to cover up. I use a flat head Sephora Professionals brush and then buff the foundation on the back of my hand to warm it up and dot it onto my face (stipling) and then swirl it to blend. Here's my skin before the foundation (ugh, crappy right? I was NOT blessed with gorgeous skin, that's for sure) and then with half covered to see the difference:
(I put my sweater on, it's still the same day and everything) A little two-faced look for you! The foundation blends easily and covers up those imperfections. I need to get some of the Studio Sculpt concealer next. Have you ever tried this foundation or concealer? As of now, totally Socialite Approved!
The look of the day I'm calling Chocolate Kiss because of the lovely shimmery chocolate colored gloss by Black Radiance called Marvelous Mocha. I used:
my Sleek Palette's bronze eyeshadow
an E.L.F. liquid eyeliner in black
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Rockstar on the bottom lashline (deep eggplant purple)
nars blush in taos for a pinky glow along with MAC Gold Deposit Mineralize skinfinish as a highlighter
a coating of Lancome Definicils Precious Cells mascara then Covergirl Lash Blast Luxe in Black Platinum for curl and oomph
finished with Revlon Brow Enhancer
