Product Review: Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque

Where to buy: Target

Price: $9.99

Rating: A

I'm always on the lookout for ways to pamper my hair and so this product caught my eye when I was in Target to buy some more E.L.F. makeup remover wipes (these are so awesome! click for the review). The price was good and I didn't have a deep treatment masque, so why not?  It has the consistency between a cake batter and a mousse with a so so smell.  It's not off putting, but it doesn't smell sweet and tropical like their curl smoothie.

The ingredients are lovely and not chock full of petroleum, mineral oil, fragrance, dye or other random things.  Here's a list of the goodness contained within:

Contains de-ionized water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter) (denotes certified organic ingredients), Argan oil, vegetable glycerin, emulsifying wax, sea kelp extract, Panthenol (vitamin B-5), essential oil blend, avocado oil, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Hyssopus Officinalis Extract, Salvia Officinalis (sage) leaf and Equisetum Arvense Extract, soybean oil and Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) seed oil.

Pretty nice, right?  The tub says that it can be used as a deep treatment conditioner or as a leave-in conditioner....I'm all for something that can pull double duty!

My hair felt incredibly lush after washing it and then sitting with the masque on and some olive oil under a heating cap.

When I do that, I generally will sit under the cap for 30 minutes and then because my hair is very manageable afterwards, I'll detangle with my fingers and then a wide tooth comb.

It's quite easy from this point!  The comb slides on through and there are few hairs coming out besides the typical shed hairs.  I've also used it as a leave in on my twists and it made them feel good then too. Thumbs up all around for the product and the super soft hair that it provides!  Have you used this or any other Shea Moisture products?  What did you think?
