The Queen of Disco, Donna Summer, is our next beauty :D  Who doesn't love this lady??!!  She's GORGEOUS and created some seriously funky fun tunes in her day.  She was the first artist to have 3 consecutive double albums reach #1 in the US and has won 5 Grammys.  Marilyn Monroe and Janis Joplin were huge inspirations for her sound.  She also did plays, like the ever popular "Godspell".  

My bff Ashley resembles her and I just had to do a look on her!  It is by FAR my favorite that we've done, what do you think?

Tracie Thoms is a Julliard educated actress known for her great roles in "Rent", "The Devil Wears Prada", "Death Proof", "Good Hair", and "Cold Case".  I LOVE this woman and her gorgeous hair, she inspired me to go natural when I first decided to do it.  I first knew about her from Rent and followed her career after that (helps that she appeared for a while in my favorite TV show too, Cold Case).

Princess Keisha Omilana is a gorgeous model from Inglewood, California (what's in the water out there, Tyra Banks is too!) who is known as "The Pantene Girl" because she is the first African American woman to be featured in 3 consecutive commercials.  She was modeling when she met her husband, Prince Kunle Omilana of Nigeria.  Together they run Wonderful Brand, which is a fashion, television, and social media business.  

The look that I decided to recreate was a simple neutral eye with bright orange/red blush and coral lips

And my take on it 

GAH, i've been feeling like crap and in a funk, which is why this series is so far behind.  I'm sorry peeps, I'm going to play catchup with looks since I missed like 4 or 5 days worth.  *spanks hand* bad blogger!

Queen Latifah is SUPER versatile and quite the entertainment maven.  She started with a successful rap career when rap was still empowering, has had television success with the awesome "Living Single", and created a name for herself in movies (even got Oscar nods for her performance in "Chicago"), and has created the Queen Collection with Covergirl as a makeup line for women of color.  This woman has it ALL: beauty, brains, talent.

I did a post for the 28 Days of Black Beauty on Whitney last year in the original lineup, recreating that 80s vivacious look from "How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody".  

She's another singing presence that has always just been THERE in my life, in that great soundtrack continuously playing in the background. 

What hurts is that it keeps happening when people are trying to get their lives together, such as Michael, Amy, and Whitney, all poised to do comebacks and reclaim their status.  Alas, I suppose it was never meant to be with any of them :(   

RIP  Whitney, we will ALWAYS love you too.

June Ambrose is a savvy fashion stylist who gives celebs their swagger.  She's the go-to fashionista for people like Jay-Z and Sean "Diddy" Combs through her company Modé Squad.  VH1 is creating "Styled by June", a styling television show that will follow her as she recreates celebrity images.  She's often credited with glamming up Hip Hop and helping the rappers trade in Timberlands for Gucci.  With her signature red lips, huge glasses, and elaborate turbans, Ms. Ambrose is a true style star.  *cheers*
